From chilly winter nights beside the campfire to splashing in crystal clear pools and lazy rivers, Sevierville’s campgrounds are amenity-packed and fun for the whole family to enjoy. RV resorts like The Dell offer accommodations for Class A and Super C coaches while The Ridge RV Resort offers over 50 campsites as well as luxury tiny homes and glamping tents.

Purchase a Tennessee fishing license and cast a line from the banks at Riverside RV Park & Resort or Ripplin’ Waters Campground & Cabins. Both provide excellent opportunities for water recreation. Enjoy more water fun at Duvall in the Smokies RV Campground where they offer tubing and kayak rental.

RVers staying at Two Rivers Landing RV Resort will enjoy picturesque views of the French Broad River while those who want to stay in the heart of it all can choose centrally located River Plantation RV Park and relax in the lazy river.

That’s Convenient!
Did you know that the sister cities of Sevierville, Pigeon Forge, and Gatlinburg, Tennessee are located beside one another? It only takes about 30 minutes to drive through all three, enjoying great attractions and fun along the way (and letting you enjoy three great destinations in one location)!

Winter activities abound in the great outdoors. Hit the slopes at Ober Gatlinburg, only thirty minutes from downtown Sevierville. Tennessee’s only ski resort, Ober features nine slopes, and a combination of both natural snow (weather dependent) and manmade snow. One green circle slope, six blue square slopes and two black diamond slopes mean there are plenty of options no matter your skiing experience. The slopes open sometime in December each year, depending on the weather, but even when the slopes aren’t open you can still enjoy year-round activities including the indoor ice rink and scenic aerial tramway.

After skiing, enjoy an exhilarating ride through treetops – complete with spectacular views – on one of Sevierville’s thrilling zip line courses. Foxfire Mountain offers some of the highest lines around (at 475 feet off the ground) and no leaf cover on the trees means unobstructed views of the mountains.

Nighttime is bright with Smoky Mountain Winterfest, which runs from November 13 – February 22. Enjoy millions of beautiful holiday lights positioned along the roadways from the comfort of your car or take a drive through Shadrack’s Christmas Wonderland – billed as the most immersive light show on Earth.

Spring is a great time to explore the Great Smoky Mountains – especially when the wildflowers are in bloom. Enjoy a nature hike in Great Smoky Mountains National Park with guides from A Walk in the Woods or choose to head out on the trails on your own to enjoy scenic beauty and adventure.

Spring also offers ideal weather for outdoor adventure – including a horseback ride. Try out the trails at Five Oaks Riding Stables and enjoy a peaceful afternoon riding through the foothills.

Spend hot summer days lounging on Douglas Lake or fishing Sevierville’s nutrient rich rivers, including the Little Pigeon and French Broad, for record-setting smallmouth bass.

Then splash around at Soaky Mountain Waterpark, the area’s newest waterpark. At 50-acres, this waterpark offers thrilling slides, a not-so-lazy river, wave pool, and special play areas built for even the littlest tadpoles to enjoy.

The Smokies are perhaps their most spectacular during fall. Brilliant color hangs on the branches from mid-October to mid-November and businesses in Sevierville, Pigeon Forge, and Gatlinburg are dressed for the season with delightful Harvest Fest displays. For those interested in a different fall view, Sevierville offers four self-guided fall driving tours that guide leaf-lookers along the backroads to historic sites and scenic locations.

Dollywood’s Great Pumpkin Luminights event is one to be sure and add to your itinerary. Fantastical pumpkin and jack-o-lantern displays pair well with lights to create a fun, family-friendly Halloween experience.
