Yes, you can climb up into the seat of a genuine piece of construction equipment, take control of the joysticks, and discover how responsive the machines are—and whether or not you’ve got the skills to master them as quickly as you might dream.

The family-friendly park welcomes construction-curious people of all ages. “It’s not just for kids, it’s adult equipment,” says Weston O’Dell, co-owner and president of the innovative destination. “Adults end up having just as much fun as kids!”

With 71 machines arranged in different game zones around the property, new challenges await at every turn. Hop into a CAT 301.5 and try plucking plastic gator heads out of a pond, or linking together a monkey chain, or puzzling together fit pipe segments, or knocking over as many building-shaped bowling-pin-sized rods as possible before the timer runs out.

The park is laid out so challenges progress in difficulty along the way. Each area is set up to encourage competition: All machines in a section start at the same time, so siblings, coworkers, spouses, parents, and whoever is at the helm of any two or more machines can compete to see who does best. “Everyone likes to compete!” says O’Dell. “It’s great for team building.”

Drive a 6,500-pound CAT 236 around a track. Then drive a pavement roller that turns in the middle around another track—with its frequent use, that pavement roller track is sure to be the smoothest road in Sevierville!

Crush a toy car with a pavement roller. Spin around on a John Deere ZTR zero-turn mower. Dig a hole with a 4,500-pound CAT 302 scooper. Drive a John Deere farm tractor and then a diesel-powered John Deere gator.

Other amusements include the 12-car barrel train, the two-seat electric SUVs, and two-seat electric tractors and dumpers. Diggy’s Treasures offers a hands-on opportunity to mine for gems.

Looking for a ride you don’t have to drive? Diggy Bear Express loops around the perimeter of the park. “It’s a unique ride,” says O’Dell. “A tractor pulls three tram cars. The driver talks about the equipment you see while driving around the park. It’s a great introduction to the park for anyone.” Another option is the Decimator, a spinning ride on a 50,000-pound CAT 320.

For refreshments head to the Dig’N Café. The on-site gift shop is loaded with souvenirs. An arcade offers some smaller-scale fun with potential prizes. A private room is available to rent and is already a popular choice for birthdays and retirements. A grassy event space faces a stage, which can be reserved for corporate or other presentations plus will be used for special events staged by Dig’N Zone.

Don’t leave before snapping a selfie in front of the world’s biggest tire by the entrance. The Titan XL is a 14-foot-tall, 12,500-pound monster manufactured in Canada by Titan Tires for use on a specific mining truck with six tires.

Dig’N Zone remains under construction itself. Phase 2, anticipated to open next summer, will include several bigger pieces of equipment (some for adults only) and a splash pad.
