Santa Claus is coming to Sevierville, and he’s not camera shy! There are dozens of ways to capture the season’s magic in Tennessee’s Smoky Mountains, whether you want a keepsake photo or your kids want to share a wish with the jolly old man. Here are fun and festive places to warm up your winter this year.
Shadrack’s Christmas Wonderland invites guests to become part of a holiday story! The drive-through show combines lights and sound for an immersive experience the whole family will enjoy. Marvel at majestic 25-foot-tall angels, walls of lights, and a star-studded pathway. Then weave through comical “Santa’s Safari” themed displays. Afterward, guests are invited to visit the Snowy Mountain Village attraction on site for sweet treats, family fun activities and photos with Santa on select evenings including November 24-25, November 30-December 2, December 7-9, December 14-16, and December 21-23. This limited time attraction will take place at the Soaky Mountain Waterpark complex from November 17 through January 7, 2024 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Admission fees are per vehicle.
Wilderness at the Smokies goes big during the holiday season with an eye-popping array of decorations plus a great lineup of festivities. Enjoy ice skating on a real outdoor ice rink (November 10 – January 15). Get creative with holiday crafts, cookie decorating, and writing letters to Santa in Santa’s Workshop and join Mrs. Claus for storytime on select dates throughout November and December. Santa appearances will also take place at Wilderness at the Smokies on November 24-25 and December 1-2, 8- 9, 15-16, and 21-23 from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. Book special overnight packages like the ‘Winter Warm Up’ with knit gloves and other goodies, ‘Holiday Story Time’ with a copy of ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas' and more treats, or the ‘Mini Christmas Tree’ package with a two-foot, pre-lit keepsake tree and additional surprises. Bass Pro Outdoor World kicks off the holiday season in early November with fun and festivities for kids of all ages. Participate in holiday craft giveaways inside the store and pose for a free 4x6-inch photo with Santa. Photo hours vary throughout the season and reservations are required—book yours in advance at basspro.com/santa.
Settle down for breakfast with Santa at Golden Corral in Sevierville on December 2 from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Have breakfast for dinner with the jolliest of elves on December 5 from 4:30pm - 7pm at Flapjacks Pancakes Sevierville. Then plan a Kids’ Day with Santa at Quaker Steak & Lube December 17 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
Dollywood hosts its award-winning Smoky Mountain Christmas from November 4 through January 6, 2024. Enjoy spectacular light displays, holiday shows, and award-winning rides at one of the world’s top theme parks. Santa will be back on park again this year as well, greeting all the kids and kids at heart through December 23.
The Christmas Place in neighboring Pigeon Forge is the largest Christmas shopping village in the South and a great place to stock up on Christmas gifts and collectibles from designer-themed trees to personalized ornaments to traditional décor. Santa will visit from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays, Mondays and Thursdays, 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Christmas Eve. Smoky Mountain Winterfest runs November 10 through February 19 in Sevierville, a week longer than sister cities Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Throughout the three communities, more than 15 million lights stretch a total of 25 miles to create a delightful drive route.
