Santa Claus is coming to Sevierville, and he’s not camera shy! There are dozens of ways to capture the season’s magic in Tennessee’s Smoky Mountains, whether you want a keepsake photo or your kids want to share a wish with the jolly old man. Here are fun and festive places to warm up your winter this year.
Shadrack’s Christmas Wonderland invites guests to become part of a holiday story! The drive-through show combines lights and sound for an immersive experience the whole family will enjoy. Marvel at majestic 25-foot-tall angels, walls of lights, and a star-studded pathway. Then weave through comical “Santa’s Safari” themed displays. Afterward, guests are invited to visit the Snowy Mountain Village attraction on site for sweet treats, family fun activities and photos with Santa on select evenings including November 29-30, December 1, December 6-8, December 13-15, and December 20-23 at 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. This limited-time attraction will take place at the Soaky Mountain Waterpark complex from November 15 through January 5, 2025, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Admission fees are per vehicle.
Wilderness at the Smokies goes big during the holiday season with an eye-popping array of decorations plus a great lineup of festivities. Enjoy ice skating on a real outdoor ice rink (November 8-11, November 15-18, November 22-30, December 1-2, December 6-9, December 13-16, December 20-31, January 1-3, January 4-5, and January 10-13). Get creative with holiday crafts, cookie decorating, and writing letters to Santa in Santa’s Workshop, and join Mrs. Claus for storytime on select dates throughout November and December. Santa appearances will also take place at Wilderness at the Smokies on November 28-29 and December 6-7, 13-14, and 20-23 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Book special overnight packages like the ‘Winter Warm Up’ with knit gloves and other goodies, ‘Holiday Story Time’ with a copy of ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas' and more treats, or the ‘Mini Christmas Tree’ package with a two-foot, pre-lit keepsake tree and additional surprises. Bass Pro Outdoor World kicks off the holiday season in early November with fun and festivities for kids of all ages. Participate in holiday craft giveaways inside the store and pose for a free 4x6-inch photo with Santa. Photo hours vary throughout the season and reservations are required—book yours in advance at basspro.com/santa.
Settle down for breakfast with Santa at Golden Corral in Sevierville Saturday, December 7 from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Have breakfast for dinner with the jolliest of elves on Tuesday, December 10 from 4:30 p.m. - 7 p.m. at Flapjacks Pancakes Sevierville. Then plan a Kids’ Day with Santa at Quaker Steak & Lube on Sunday, December 22 from 3:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m.
Sevierville is your hometown Christmas destination in the Smokies. Make plans to visit historic downtown Sevierville on Friday, December 6 for Christmas at the Courthouse from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. This free community event features festive music, holiday crafts, delicious treats, traditional tree lighting, and of course, a visit from Santa himself!
Dollywood hosts its award-winning Smoky Mountain Christmas from November 1 through January 5, 2025. Enjoy spectacular light displays, holiday shows, and award-winning rides at one of the world’s top theme parks. Santa will be back on park again this year as well, greeting all the kids and kids at heart through December 23.
The Christmas Place in neighboring Pigeon Forge is the largest Christmas shopping village in the South and a great place to stock up on Christmas gifts and collectibles from designer-themed trees to personalized ornaments to traditional décor. . Santa will visit from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays, 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Christmas Eve. Visit Santa up on the mountain. SkyLand Ranch, a new mountaintop adventure in Sevierville, will have a special Santa’s Village experience from November 1 through December 24. With a Santa’s Village ticket add-on option, guests can go through Santa’s Village, play games, grab a hot chocolate and cookie or S’mores kit, and even get a picture with Santa Claus November 1 and 28-20 and December 6-7, 13-14, 20-24. Anakeesta, in nearby Gatlinburg hosts a range of winter enchantments starting on November 15. Santa will host an early breakfast on top of the mountain (which is a separate ticketed event) on December 7, 22, and 23 from 7:45 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. The Enchanted Christmas Celebration of Lights runs until December 31 and features light displays throughout the magical villages, delicious dining, holiday shopping, and cozy gathering places. Bring the family to Ripley’s Aquarium, to explore the ocean depths, see thousands of fish and other sea life, and starting in November, jolly Old St. Nick. Santa will be at the aquarium on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays beginning November 8 through December 15 and then daily from December 16 to Christmas Eve. Find details here .
Christmas at Ober Mountain kicks off on December 1. Enjoy seasonal treats, crafts, and face painting in addition to Ober’s regular winter activities all month long. Stop in for more celebrations at Ober’s Ice Festival on December 2 and 3, complete with live ice carving demonstrations, tours in the GIANT Igloo, and photos atop the Ice Throne. Smoky Mountain Winterfest runs November 8 through February 17 in Sevierville, a week longer than sister cities Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg.
