Santa Claus is coming to Sevierville, and he’s not camera shy! There are dozens of ways to capture the season’s magic in Tennessee’s Smoky Mountains, whether you want a keepsake photo or your kids want to share a wish with the jolly old man. Wilderness at the Smokies goes big during the holiday season with an eye-popping array of decorations plus a great lineup of festivities. Enjoy ice skating on the converted outdoor wave pool. Bass Pro Outdoor World kicks off the holiday season with a parade on November 6 that starts at 5 p.m. Pull into the parking lot and tailgate for a contactless Santa sighting while free hot cocoa is delivered to your vehicle by energetic elves. Collect holiday craft giveaways inside the store throughout the season. Pose for a free 4x6-inch photo with Santa starting November 7. Photo hours vary throughout the season and reservations are required—book yours up to a week in advance at basspro.com/santa.

Shadrack’s Christmas Wonderland at Smokies Stadium opens November 5 and runs through January 2. Drive a 1.5-mile route through LED lights accompanied by holiday music. Be sure to stop in Santa’s Village, which is open from November 19 through December 23, to meet and greet Santa who is on site from 6 to 9:30 p.m., as long as kids are in line.

Santa Hustle Smokies on Sunday, December 12, is a 5k and Half Marathon that begins and ends at Wilderness at the Smokies. Join the race or see thousands of runners dressed like Santa along Sevierville’s city streets to benefit Keep Sevier Beautiful, the local affiliate of Keep America Beautiful. Want to run or walk? Smoky Mountain Winterfest runs November 12 through February 21 in Sevierville, a week longer than sister cities Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. More than 15 million lights stretch a total of 25 miles to create a delightful drive route in all three communities. In Sevierville you can also enjoy unique shopping, award-winning attractions, and cozy accommodations from quaint cabins to historic inns to modern hotels.

Dollywood hosts its award-winning Smoky Mountain Christmas from November 6 through January 2. Celebrate the wonder of Christmas wandering among four million lights, attending award-winning musical productions, watching the annual Parade of Many Colors, and much more. Peek inside Santa’s cabin as he reviews who’s been naughty and nice. Get a photo of the kids while they watch Santa at work.

The Christmas Place in neighboring Pigeon Forge is the largest Christmas shopping village in the South and a great place to stock up on Christmas gifts and collectibles from designer-themed trees to personalized ornaments to traditional décor. Anakeesta in nearby Gatlinburg hosts a range of winter enchantments. A professional photographer will be on site for photos with Santa, his sleigh, and reindeer on November 26, 27 and December 3, 4, 10 and 11. Santa will host an early breakfast on top of the mountain December 4 and 11; meet some elves, roll up your sleeves for arts and crafts, sing songs, pose for photos, and visit with Santa. The Enchanted Winter of Lights, running November 11 through February, is expanded this year with twice as many lights and new sounds including a sensory area that feels like a winter storm and another that feels like its above the clouds. Navigate 14 lit bridges on Skywalk, explore Arctic Alley, plus see Christmas trees and listen to live music throughout the park.
