More than stores

Sevierville is known for shopping, but this mountain town is also famous for family fun and outdoor adventure. While taking advantage of great deals during tax free weekend, you can also mark a thing or two off your bucket list, make plans to visit fun museums, or splash the days away at our indoor and outdoor waterpark resorts.

One place to be sure and visit is Sevierville’s newest attraction, Soaky Mountain Waterpark. Although this 50-acre waterpark attraction only opened a couple years ago, they’re already adding thrilling new slides like The Edge – a first-of-its-kind dual water coaster that offers plenty of thrills. The park also has a variety of exciting waterslides, a not-so-lazy river (think tubing rapids instead of a quiet float trip), and more. Families with younger children will also appreciate the kids’ play areas and scaled down waterslides that are smaller versions of the thrill rides found throughout the park.

If waterparks aren’t exactly your thing, make plans to rev your engine at NASCAR SpeedPark Smoky Mountain’s family-friendly go kart tracks, explore Rainforest Adventures Discovery Zoo, or bounce around at Sevier Air Trampoline & Ninja Warrior Park. Of course, there are plenty of ways to enjoy the great outdoors in the Great Smoky Mountains, too. Plan a leisurely hike with beautiful views or set aside an hour or two for relaxing by a mountain stream. Explore more Sevierville area attractions here.
