VIRTUAL WINE TRAIL
This Wine Trail Goes the (Social) Distance.
Our favorite places are coming up with ways to connect with us while we’re all staying home. These inventive ideas to enjoy the Smoky Mountains from afar range from educational to tasty – and some are downright innovative. One of the most unique we’ve seen is the Virtual Rocky Top Wine Trail.
Those who have completed our area’s Rocky Top Wine Trail in person know that it involves visiting wineries in Sevierville and Pigeon Forge with a “passport” in hand. Visit three wineries for tastings and collect passport stamps to get a small gift. Visit all five and earn an even nicer piece of swag.
Since visiting the wineries in person isn’t possible right now, this Virtual Rocky Top Wine Trail is a great way to get a taste of the Smokies.
The wineries along the trail include Hillside Winery, Apple Barn Winery, Apple Barn Cider House, Mill Bridge Winery, and Mountain Valley Winery and offer over 70 unique, award-winning wines and ciders with flavors like All That Razz, Muscadine Mist, and Water Wheel – plus more traditional flavors like Pinot Grigio, Sangria, and Zinfandel.
So, just how does the Virtual Rocky Top Wine Trail work? Those ages 21+ can order wine from the trail’s online shopping cart. When wine is purchased from three (3) of the wineries, the Rocky Top Wine Trail team will separately ship two Rocky Top Wine Trail glasses at no charge. If wine is purchased from five (5) or more wineries, the team will also ship the current final stop gift - a set of Ear Buds - for free! Please note, there are a few states that wine cannot be shipped to, including: AK, AL, AR, HI, NH, MS and UT.
Shopper’s Tip: All the wineries along the trail are offering discounts for larger purchases - (6) bottle purchases are 20% off and (12) bottles or more are 25% off. Wine club members get additional discounts as well.
Not only is the Rocky Top Wine Trail making this online experience possible, they’re also offering virtual food and wine pairing lessons, cooking classes and more on their Facebook page to help hone everyone’s culinary skills.
