Plan Your Perfect Trip to the Smoky Mountains

Posted on September 2, 2020October 21, 2020

The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is a true gem of a destination. With over 520000 acres, 2200 miles of streams, and numerous activities and attractions, it’s no wonder that the GSMNP is the most visited National Park in the US! While a visit to the national park should be a relaxing experience, the planning portion of a trip isn’t always. We hope that these Sevierville vacation planning tips make the planning process a little bit easier.

Plan the perfect trip to the Smokies tip #1

The very beginning of any destination trip starts with choosing the perfect time for your visit. Some people adore the Smoky Mountains in the spring while others prefer a summer of mountain fun. Still, others plan their trip around the Smoky Mountain fall colors and some swear that Winterfest is the best time to visit. Everybody has their own special time to visit the Smokies,  some going so far as to visit each season so as not to miss a thing. Because we experience all four seasons in the Smoky Mountains, with special events all year long, there is no right or wrong time to visit. Decide when you want to visit to start off the perfect Smoky Mountain vacation right.

Plan the perfect trip to the Smokies tip #2

Once you have chosen the time of year that you’ll be visiting the Smokies, start looking at lodging options. The lodging choices in Sevierville are just as varied as the seasons. Kick up your feet at a luxury cabin, enjoy being pampered at an area resort, lay your head down in a comfortable hotel room, or connect with nature at an area campground.   There is truly a place for every sized group, every reason for visiting, and every budget in the Smoky Mountains.

Plan the perfect trip to the Smokies tip #3

Once you know when you’re visiting and where you’re staying, the fun really begins. Start choosing the attractions and activities that you want to experience while in the Smokies!  The best way to do this is to either download the Digital Sevierville Vacation Planner or request that one be mailed to you. Then start flipping through and bookmarking any activity that looks exciting. You’ll likely be left with more things than you can fit into your vacation, so make sure you prioritize your activities so you see the things you really don’t want to miss on your first visit.

A trip to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park is an exciting trip for everyone and with the multitude of things to do there won’t be any shortage of beautiful memories. We hope these tips help you plan the perfect trip easily!
