Indoor Water Parks in the Great Smoky Mountains to Enjoy This Winter

Posted on January 22, 2021February 18, 2021

When you think about the winter season, seldom does the idea of going to a waterpark in the Great Smoky Mountains come up. But, not only is this an option for you and your family, it’s an increasingly popular one!

Take Wilderness At The Smokies, for example. This year-round waterpark resort is home to the largest indoor waterpark in all of Tennessee, the Wild Waterdome, concealed with a see-through roof for insulation.

This resort also offers other fun indoor activities during the winter season, in their Adventure Forest. This 25,000 square foot center contains a mini-golf course, laser tag, and a ropes course! In November, the Wilderness Ice Skating Rink opens up to guests, so you don’t have to worry about missing out on some winter activities, too! Get the feel of summer, winter, and everything in between at your stay at the Wilderness. All of this, and even more, is conveniently located just outside the resort hotel and included in your stay.

 The Resort at Governor’s Crossing

However, this year-round waterpark resort isn’t an anomaly, even in Tennessee. The Resort at Governor’s Crossing also boasts an indoor water park (as well as their seasonal outdoor park) located in Sevierville, TN. Jacuzzis, water slides, and a lazy river are some of the many features at The Resort’s two water parks. This family-friendly resort provides condos for larger families, as well as the couple seeking a quick getaway. Stay at their condominiums while you visit nearby attractions like Dollywood and The Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Firepits, playgrounds, and an arcade room are also located on the premises.

Both resorts emphasize safety precautions due to COVID-19, so rest assured that these attractions are doing everything necessary to keep you and your family safe while the virus persists.
