3 More Road Trip Packing Tips for Your Next Getaway to the Smokies

Posted on February 19, 2022March 3, 2022

We know it can be a challenge to make sure you have everything you need when you’re on a road trip. We wanted to help by pulling together a list of 3 tips that can make your trip easier, more comfortable, and more enjoyable. We know most of our travelers just hop in the car and make their way to the Smokies, so road tripping the right way will help ensure you have a great start and end to your vacation.

#1 Road Tripping Tip: Consult a Road Tripping Checklist and then Build Your Own Customized List

The best thing you can do before your road trip is to take some time to plan and research a checklist so that you can review everything you might need. Once you have a checklist in front of you, you can make your own with any unique items you might need. Then as you are packing, go through and make sure you check off each item as you pack it. Once you have completed reviewing your checklist, you are ready to start your trip.

#2 Road Tripping Tip: Bring Snacks and a Cooler

It can be difficult to take an entire trip without stopping for snacks, but the catch 22 is that stopping adds time to your travels that you may not want. You can pack healthy snacks that will keep you feeling energized throughout your trip so that you can have the best trip possible! Pack your cooler full of snacks like fruits, protein bars, and any other snacks you love and make sure to pack some of your favorite drinks, too!

#3 Road Tripping Tip: Wear Your Comfiest Clothes and Keep Essentials in a Separate Easily Accessible Bag

Don your comfiest outfit so that you can have the most enjoyable trip. If you need to, you can put a change of clothes in a separate bag to keep things easily accessible. You can also include anything you might need. If you have to stay overnight somewhere, this is a great place to pack other essentials like your toothbrush and other toiletries. This prevents you from having to rummage through the car to find small items. Once you have the car completely packed, the last thing you want to have to do is go through the bags you’ve got stored away to find something you could’ve put in a small bag that you keep near you.
