Conquering the Canopies: Ziplining at Foxfire Adventure Park

Posted on September 1, 2026September 10, 2026

There is something special about experiencing the Smoky Mountains from above. At Foxfire Adventure Park in Sevierville, you can trade the traditional mountain overlook for an entirely different perspective, soaring through the forest canopy, crossing a swinging bridge high above a gorge, or following a peaceful trail toward a waterfall.

Set on 150 acres in the mountains of Sevierville, Foxfire Adventure Park combines high-flying thrills with opportunities to slow down and enjoy the scenery. Whether you are searching for ziplining in the Smoky Mountains, looking for memorable things to do in Sevierville, or simply want to spend more of your vacation outside, Foxfire makes it easy to build a day around adventure.

Take to the Trees on the Waterfall Canopy Zip Line Tour

If you have never been ziplining before, Foxfire’s Waterfall Canopy Zip Line Tour is a great place to begin.

The course features seven ziplines and two skybridges winding through the forest. Rather than immediately sending guests onto the biggest line, the experience begins with three introductory lines, giving participants an opportunity to become comfortable with the equipment and sensation of ziplining before progressing to higher lines.

As the course continues, the scenery becomes part of the adventure. Ziplines carry riders through the tree canopy and above a creek and the Lost Mine waterfall area. It is an experience that combines the excitement of flying through the trees with the natural beauty that draws millions of people to the Smoky Mountains each year.

The Waterfall Canopy Tour is currently available for guests ages seven and older who weigh between 45 and 265 pounds. Anyone younger than 16 must have adult supervision.

Go Bigger on the Goliath Zip Line Tour

Experienced adventurers, and first-timers ready to jump into something a little more daring, can take things several steps higher on Foxfire’s Goliath Zip Line Tour.

Goliath consists of five exceptionally long and fast ziplines designed to deliver both an adrenaline rush and incredible mountain views. Riders can reach speeds of up to 60 miles per hour, with lines extending more than half a mile and reaching heights of more than 500 feet.

From those heights, the landscape opens up dramatically. Instead of seeing the mountains from a roadside overlook, you are soaring through the scenery with expansive views toward Sevierville, Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, and the surrounding Smokies.

Because Goliath is one of Foxfire’s more extreme canopy tours, its participation requirements are different from the Waterfall Canopy Tour. Guests must be at least 10 years old and weigh between 100 and 250 pounds. Participants younger than 16 require adult supervision.

Can’t decide between the two? Foxfire also offers an Ultimate Zip Line Tour that combines the Waterfall Canopy and Goliath courses for an even bigger day of adventure.

Explore Foxfire With Your Feet on the Ground

You do not have to leave the ground to enjoy Foxfire.

For nature lovers looking for scenic mountain trails and outdoor activities, the park offers a self-guided hiking experience through its wooded property. One of its signature sights is the Bridge to Prosperity, a 335-foot swinging bridge stretching across Foxfire Gorge.

Crossing the bridge is an adventure in itself, but there is more waiting on the other side.

Visitors can continue through the property toward the covered Wish Bridge and hike up the mountain to Lost Mine Falls. The River Walk Trail provides another opportunity to enjoy the wooded landscape and creekside surroundings at a more leisurely pace.

These trails are particularly appealing to families and groups with different ideas about what constitutes an adventure. While some members of your group might be eager to tackle an extreme zipline course, others can experience the mountain landscape at their own speed.

Even four-legged family members can get in on the adventure. Foxfire currently welcomes dogs on its hiking trails and around the property, although pets cannot participate in harnessed activities.

Try Even More Outdoor Adventures

Ziplining may be the star attraction, but it is far from the only way to test your adventurous side at Foxfire.

The Ropes Challenge Course takes the action into the treetops with a self-guided aerial course featuring 10 challenge elements and two ziplines. It is an opportunity to test your balance, coordination, and confidence while securely tethered throughout the experience.

Want to go vertical instead? The Gorilla Climbing Wall rises more than 60 feet and offers five climbing lanes with varying levels of difficulty.

Then there is the Quick Jump.

This aptly named experience starts at the top of Foxfire’s 60-foot Tower of Nations and gives adventurous visitors the sensation of a free fall. It is the kind of vacation experience that may require a little courage beforehand and earn some serious bragging rights afterward.

Younger adventurers are not forgotten either. Fox’s Hollow Playground gives kids another way to climb, explore, and burn off some energy closer to the ground.

Make Foxfire Part of Your Smoky Mountain Adventure

One of the best things about exploring the outdoors in Sevierville is the variety of experiences available. A mountain adventure does not necessarily have to mean spending an entire day on a strenuous backcountry trail.

At Foxfire, you can choose your own level of adventure.

Spend your time walking through the woods and crossing the Bridge to Prosperity. Challenge yourself on an aerial ropes course. Climb toward the top of a 60-foot wall. Take your first zipline ride through the forest canopy. Or go all in and soar hundreds of feet above the landscape on Goliath.

That variety also makes Foxfire an appealing choice for families and groups. You can experience the beauty of the Smokies together without everyone needing the same appetite for heights and adrenaline.

How to Book a Zipline Tour at Foxfire Adventure Park

While Foxfire does not require reservations, the park strongly recommends making one for zipline tours if you want to secure your preferred date and time.

Reservations can be made directly through Foxfire Adventure Park’s online booking system. Before choosing a tour, check the age and weight requirements for everyone in your group. Those requirements differ between the Waterfall Canopy and Goliath courses.

Closed-toe shoes are required for harnessed activities, so leave the sandals and flip-flops for another day. Comfortable clothing suitable for the weather and outdoor activity is your best choice.

And do not automatically assume that a little rain will cancel your plans. Foxfire states that tours normally continue in the rain, although tours may be rescheduled when lightning or high winds create unsafe conditions.

Discover a Wilder Side of Sevierville

The Smoky Mountains have a way of making you want to get outside, and Sevierville offers plenty of ways to answer that call.

At Foxfire Adventure Park, the mountains are more than a backdrop. They become part of the experience as you fly between them, climb above the forest floor, cross a swaying bridge, follow a creek, or hike toward a waterfall.

So, when you are planning your next getaway and searching for unforgettable things to do in Sevierville, bring your sense of adventure. Whether your perfect day involves a peaceful walk through the woods or racing through the air at highway speeds, you just might find it waiting in the trees.
