10 Amazingly Fun Family Friendly Fall Things to Do in Sevierville

Posted on September 9, 2026September 10, 2026

Crisp mountain air, brilliant fall colors, pumpkins around every corner, and plenty of reasons to get outside make autumn an especially fun time to visit Sevierville.

Fall in the Smoky Mountains is about much more than leaf peeping. Families can wander through corn mazes, pick pumpkins, take a hayride, explore colorful country roads, attend a fall festival, and even soar above the changing leaves.

If you are searching for the best fall events in Sevierville or planning a getaway with the kids, start with these 10 family friendly ways to celebrate the season.

1. Get “Kornfused” at Kyker Farms Corn Maze

Nothing says fall quite like getting lost in a corn maze, and Kyker Farms has turned it into a Sevierville tradition.

This Tennessee Century Farm has remained in the Kyker family for more than 200 years. Each fall, the working farm welcomes families for multiple corn mazes with different themes and challenges, including an easier route designed with younger visitors in mind.

The fun extends well beyond the cornfield. Kids can tackle tunnel slides, swings, a bouncing pillow, straw crawl, zip line, games, and other farm activities.

The 2026 season begins September 26, with the farm open Thursdays through Sundays during October.

2. Take a Hayride to the Pumpkin Patch

Wondering where to find local pumpkin patches in Sevierville? You are already in the right place.

A visit to Kyker Farms can include a leisurely hayride through the property with a stop at the pumpkin patch. Families can head into the field to choose a pumpkin while enjoying the beautiful rural landscape surrounding the farm.

That combination of corn mazes, hayrides, pumpkins, and old-fashioned outdoor play makes Kyker Farms one of the most complete fall experiences in town.

And yes, you will probably want to take pictures. Lots of them.

3. Celebrate Smoky Mountain Harvest Fest

From September 18 through October 31, 2026, Sevierville celebrates the season with Smoky Mountain Harvest Fest.

Businesses and attractions throughout the area get into the spirit with elaborate autumn displays filled with pumpkins, hay bales, scarecrows, and colorful decorations. Simply driving around town becomes part of the fall fun.

Families can also join the Harvest Hank Scavenger Hunt. Visit Sevierville shares clues on social media revealing where Harvest Hank is hiding around town. Find him, snap a picture, and you may even have a chance to win a fall prize.

It is an easy way to turn sightseeing into a family challenge.

4. Experience History & Haunts in Downtown Sevierville

Halloween can be spooky without being terrifying, especially in historic downtown Sevierville.

History & Haunts returns on October 22, 2026, with a family friendly evening combining local history with Halloween fun. Activities include historical walking tours, storytellers, lawn games, crafts, costume contests, music, dancing, and a few ghoulish surprises.

Even the family dog can participate in the costume fun if properly leashed.

The celebration begins at 6 p.m. on Bruce Street and wraps up at 8 p.m. with fireworks over downtown Sevierville.

5. Take a Fall Color Driving Tour

Sometimes the best way to see the Smokies in autumn is simply to get off the main roads.

Visit Sevierville offers self-guided fall driving tours that wind through some of the area’s most beautiful rural communities. Instead of traffic lights and busy attractions, you will encounter rolling farmland, old churches, historic homes, barns, mountain streams, and sweeping views of the Smokies.

Routes explore areas such as Boyd’s Creek, English Mountain, the Middle Prong of the Little Pigeon River, and Douglas Lake.

Pack some snacks, build a fall playlist, and let the scenery provide the entertainment. Peak leaf color varies with elevation and weather, but the most colorful conditions around Sevierville typically arrive from mid October into November.

6. Soar Through the Fall Colors at Foxfire Adventure Park

Want to do more than look at the leaves?

Fly through them.

Foxfire Adventure Park offers zipline experiences across its 150-acre mountain property in Sevierville. The Waterfall Canopy Tour takes guests through the forest on seven ziplines and two skybridges, while thrill seekers can take things higher and faster on the Goliath Zip Line Tour.

Fall adds another dimension to the experience as the forest canopy transforms into shades of gold, orange, and red.

Visitors who prefer to keep their feet closer to the ground can explore Foxfire’s hiking trails, walk across the Bridge to Prosperity, or make their way toward Lost Mine Falls.

7. Spend a Fall Day at SkyLand Ranch

Mountain views and fall colors are a pretty spectacular combination, and you can find both at SkyLand Ranch.

For a little more excitement, hop aboard the Wild Stallion Mountain Coaster and race down the mountainside surrounded by autumn scenery.

8. Spend an Autumn Afternoon at The Apple Barn

Few flavors capture fall quite like apples, and The Apple Barn Cider Mill & General Store has been a Sevierville favorite for generations.

The property is surrounded by an orchard with thousands of apple trees, and fall brings freshly harvested varieties into the General Store. Visitors can browse apple butter, jams, baking mixes, and other treats or watch as fresh cider is produced on site.

Then follow the scent of something sweet.

Apple pies, apple fritters, apple cider, and homemade ice cream make this an especially delicious stop on a cool fall afternoon.

While the orchard is not a pick your own operation, freshly harvested apples are available for purchase during the season.

9. Go Leaf Peeping on a Family Hike

Some fall colors deserve to be seen up close.

Sevierville makes an excellent home base for exploring easy hiking trails and scenic walks throughout the Smoky Mountains. Families looking for a gentle outing can start with Sevierville’s paved greenways or venture toward nearby Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Shorter nature trails let children experience the forest without committing the family to a strenuous mountain climb.

Bring water, wear comfortable shoes, and encourage everyone to look beyond the colorful leaves. Autumn is also a wonderful time to notice acorns, rushing streams, interesting tree bark, wildlife, and other details that are easy to miss from the car.

10. Make Your Own Fall Photo Tour

You do not need an admission ticket to create one of your favorite memories of the trip.

During Smoky Mountain Harvest Fest, Sevierville fills with seasonal decorations and beautiful places for family photos. Head into historic downtown for pictures near the courthouse and Dolly Parton statue, look for colorful Harvest Fest displays around town, or venture into the countryside for classic Smoky Mountain scenery.

The changing landscape provides the ultimate backdrop. A simple family drive can uncover red barns, golden fields, mountain ridges covered in fall color, and winding country roads framed by autumn leaves.

Let the kids help choose the stops and turn it into your family’s own fall photo scavenger hunt.

Plan a Family Fall Getaway to Sevierville

The hardest part of experiencing fall in Sevierville may be deciding what to do first.

You can spend the morning navigating corn mazes in Sevierville, ride a wagon into a pumpkin patch in the afternoon, and end the day surrounded by mountain views and brilliant fall colors. Add festivals, Halloween celebrations, scenic drives, apple treats, and outdoor adventures, and there is something for nearly every age and energy level.

If pumpkin patches and corn mazes are at the top of your list, make Kyker Farms a priority. It offers both in one location, along with enough additional farm activities to fill a good portion of the day.

For families trying to coordinate their trip with autumn festival schedules, September and October are packed with opportunities, while the changing leaves often continue putting on a show into November.

So grab your favorite sweater, bring the camera, and get ready to make some colorful Smoky Mountain memories. Fall does not last forever, but the family traditions you start in Sevierville just might.
