Open since Memorial Day weekend 2019, The Ridge Outdoor Resort was first envisioned as an overflow area for a different RV park. “My husband Mike ran that resort for more than 20 years,” says director of operations Jessica Hale. “The Ridge Outdoor Resort improves upon that concept.” Thus, it was ultimately opened as an independent entity.
The Ridge will be completed in three phases. Phase 1, which is already being enjoyed by guests, includes 49 RV sites, five tiny home camping cabins, and seven canvas glamping tents. Phase 2, which will open April 15 and is already accepting reservations, will introduce 97 additional RV sites. Later this summer, a new fishing pond and swimming lagoon with a sandy beach will be added to the property. Plans for Phase 3 are still being finalized, but will likely include 100 more RV sites and up to 50 additional glamping options.
Glamping (glamorous camping), offered via both luxury canvas tents and tiny homes, is available year-round. “The experience of glamping gives you the outdoor excitement of a camping trip with the luxuries of home,” says Hale. Another perk: Don’t worry about setting up your campsite; just check in and start enjoying your stay.
Glamping canvas tents take tent camping to a new level of luxury with sleeping quarters for up to six guests plus a bathroom, kitchen, and heat and air. “It’s still a canvas structure,” says Hale. “So the weather outside determines the temperature inside, even though there’s heat and air. So for example if it’s 19 degrees outside, the bedrooms might be 62 degrees. Most people are comfortable with that.”
Prefer more climate control? Try a tiny home with separate living and bedroom areas, full bath, kitchenette, and front porch. Each tiny home sleeps up to two guests plus boasts sunset views, making it a compelling option for a romantic getaway.
All the RV sites are large at this big rig friendly resort. “Our shortest is 65-feet,” says Hale. “These are all-concrete pads with full hook-up, ethernet connection, and lots of green space between them, too.” Many of the RV sites have wood or gas fire pits.
